Where is ZEN?
We are located on the outskirts of Ripon in North Yorkshire in a beautiful village Wath.
If you are visiting ZEN for the first time, we advise you to put ZEN Sensory into google maps and it will bring you straight to our car park. If you just put in our post code, it will take you to a farm nearby. We are on the same plot as Yorkshire Generators with green fencing.
Is the centre disability accessible?
ZEN has been specifically designed for those with additional needs and disabilities and so the entire sensory centre is wheelchair accessible. Our centre is fitted with mobile hoists so that all equipment at ZEN can be used by everyone. We have a changing room/toilet at ZEN with both a changing bed for children and adults as well as a baby changing unit. Our toilet facilities also include grab rails.
Do you have an age limit to visit ZEN?
ZEN Alternative provision is for primary aged children. ZEN holiday club is for school aged children and our sensory sessions are for all ages and abilities, from birth, to children and adults with additional needs.
Do I need a referral to visit ZEN?
For our alternative provision, yes, you will need a referral. This can be through your childs school, the council if on a EOTAS package or a self referral.
Is there parking on site?
Yes, we have our own car park on site
Can you just turn up for a session at ZEN?
No, all sessions must be pre-booked to ensure we have availability. This can be done online, or directly through us via email/messenger 🙂
Can I eat snacks during a session?
Breastfeeding, bottle feeding and drinks are welcomed throughout the entire centre. However, food is only to be eaten in the Forest Room and not in the other 3 sensory rooms (Sun Room, Ocean Room and Enchanted Cave).
